ThermoFisher Scientific – HPLC Product Development Video
We’ve always had an excellent relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific, so we were excited when they asked us to produce a product development video to mark the launch of the Vanquish Core. The video would chart the evolution of their High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments and include interviews with scientists who had played a key role in their innovation.
As an agency, we want to gain a deep understanding of our clients’ messages. Our video production always begins with a deep dive to contextualise the current need within global brand messages. We also want to be crystal clear about the product itself and what makes it unique in today’s market.
For this project there was a huge amount of information to digest and we were grateful for the close collaboration of our Thermo contacts. The video took us on a journey back to 1980s Munich and presented us with the challenge of incorporating archive photographs with footage of vintage instruments and interviews with scientists.
With so many different products and company acquisitions to include in this product development video, creating a clear timeline was a must. We incorporated a timeline graphic that remained on the left of the screen to mark every staging post in the evolutionary journey. We crafted a script that would allow this complex information to be transmitted succinctly through a variety of interviewees.
Then our team travelled to Germering near Munich to capture the interviews and footage of the instruments themselves. We were able to turn the edit around in time for a gala launch event, where the product development video was extremely well received.
